The Manor, which is listed Grade II, has recently been sympathetically restored to its former glory and retains many of its original features and is extremely comfortable ( Especially the beds!). It has an abundance of excellent parking next to the main entrance gate, with very easy access. The property is surrounded by its own well maintained gardens, meadows and pastures of some 8 acres. The manor is is also set in farmland with a plethora of sheep and cows enhancing the countryside experience.
The gardens include mature rose borders and a large pond (which has been fenced off in the interest of children's safety), complete with its own boat. Guests are welcome to use the boat in the summer as long as they are supervised by a responsible adult.

The house was built in Circa1460 and the interior is of half-timbered construction with unusually high ceilings considering the age of the building. It boasts some very heavy beams and large Inglenook fireplaces especially in the dining room and guests living room. The ambience is enhanced by the sheer abundance of antique furniture including a Charles 11 Four Poster bed in one of the guest rooms.
The numerous local attractions include Rye, the famous gardens of Sissinghurst Castle, Great Dixter, Scotney Castle and Leeds Castle which is a short run along the M20. Canterbury is half an hour whilst Winchelsea, Battle and Hastings are all less than half an hour. The Euro Tunnel is also about 30 minutes.
Around Rye itself there is the world renowned Rye Golf Links and Rye Lawn Tennis & Squash Club.
There are four double bedrooms each with en-suite or private bathroom facilities.
A full English breakfast,
including fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, muesili,
toast and croissants with our own home made marmalade.
In the summertime the use of the south west facing terrace is available for the use of guests. Tea, is usually served on arrival in the afternoon, weather permitting, on the terrace, and wine or sherry in the evening, before guests leave for their supper.
We
specialise in Small groups of Musicians, on favourable terms, as we have a semi
grand Steinway in our Living Room.
We are happy to recommend and make reservations for a number of fine Inns & Restaurants in the area.
With the abundance
of beautiful countryside surrounding the property comes a wide range of
bird life including the Great Spotted Woodpecker, Blue and Yellow Tits, whilst
Coutts nest each year on the large pond. Sheer peace and tranquillity with
roaming sheep, with miles of uninterrupted views. For a stress free break!
